1.Jeenat had 53 oranges in her juice shop. She uses 25 oranges to make some juice for a party. How many oranges are left with her ?
To give the number of leftover oranges, we need to subtract 25 from 53 .
Answer:-53-25=28 oranges
2. Mrs brown baked 87 cookies on Saturday and 58 cookies on Sunday. How many cookies did see baked in all over the weekend?
To find the total number of cookies baked we need to add 87 and 58.
Answer:- 87+58=145 cookies.
3.76 people run in the marathon this year. 48 people cross the finishing line .how many people did not cross the finishing line?
Answer:- 76-48=28 people
4.65 bottles were collected during the recycling program last year .58 more bottles than last year were collected this year. What is the total number of bottles collected this year? How many bottles were collected in both the years altogether?
Answer:-65+58=123 bottles were collected this year
123+65=188 bottles were collected in both the years
5.There are 38 passengers and 67 pieces of luggage in a flight. How many more pieces of luggage than passengers are there?
Answer:- 67-38=29 pieces of luggage
